Waiting to find out if you are pregnant is such a frustrating time and although it is only a couple of weeks it seems to take forever. It is very easy to become impatient during that time that you are waiting to take the test to know if you have become pregnant or not.

In this article I’m going to discuss some of the pregnancy signs that might give you an indication as to whether you could be pregnant.

Feeling lightheaded or dizzy - this might happen if you have been standing for a long period of time then you might just suddenly feel a bit lightheaded and need to sit down. This was the sign that made me realise that I could be pregnant with my 3rd baby as I wasn’t trying to conceive at the time, but when I started feeling lightheaded when I was on my feet for a while I started to suspect that I might be pregnant. Sure enough, a pregnancy test soon confirmed that I was.

pregnancyMorning sickness or nausea - another early pregnancy symptom is morning sickness or nausea and contrary to the name, morning sickness can occur at any time of the day and for some women it can go on all day long. Some women will actually vomit with morning sickness while others will just experience the nausea feeling.

Missed period - if your periods are regular then if you are a few days late then this could be an indication that you could be pregnant. If you do not have regular menstrual periods or have just stopped taking the pill then this may not be a sign of being pregnant.

Sore or tender breasts - breast size will usually increase throughout pregnancy but sore or tender breasts can happen quite early on in the pregnancy. This is often one of the earlier tell tale signs of being pregnant.

Frequent urination - the need to go to the toilet more often is another pregnancy sign that can start fairly early on in the pregnancy so if you notice the need to urinate frequently then this might be a sign that you are pregnant.

Mood swings - another tell tale sign. When you have all those hormone changes happening there is a good chance that it will effect your mood so if you are feeling like you are unusually moody or irritable then this could be a pregnancy sign.

Spotting - it is fairly common for women to have a little spotting at the time when their menstrual period would have occurred. This is only light spotting and much lighter than a normal menstrual period. You shouldn’t bleed anymore after this spotting has finished and if you do you should see your GP as soon as possible.

These are the main pregnancy symptoms but not all women will suffer from them. You may have just some of these symptoms or all of the symptoms. If you have any pregnancy sign at all and think that you might be pregnant, then I recommend visiting your GP soon to find out for sure whether you are pregnant or not.

I wish you luck and hope that you have a healthy pregnancy and a beautiful, healthy baby to share your life with.
