As part of being clean as well as for vanity purposes, most people take good care of their hands; and they always make sure that it is smooth, soft and protected. But unfortunately, they completely ignore the conditions of their nails even though they trim it regularly. Trimming the nails is not taking good care of it completely. Many will be found guilty with this doing.

If you are indeed one of the guilty persons doing such things, maybe you are one of those who think that after washing and moisturizing your hands, will say that you are already taking good care of your nails also. Nails, just like the other noticeable body parts, are very important in a person. Thus, suitable nail care treatments are much needed.

The nails act as protection from injuries on your fingers and toes. It is also a great indication whether you are having a healthy lifestyle or not as of the moment. Think of this - when you go to your doctor and have your routine check up, do you notice that he or she checks your nails? They do this because the nails reflect how well groomed you are as well as how good is your health status.

To check if you are healthy by just looking at your nails, check its appearance and color. If your nails have a pink tint, it means that you have a good circulation of oxygen in your blood, which is a good sign. If you notice a change in the appearance, texture, or color of your nails, it may be a sign that you might have a health problem which could be a nutrient deficiency or an illness. It would be best to consult a doctor if you see a drastic change in your nails.

Having known these facts, you should now include a nail care routine treatment in your regular beauty regimen in order to give your nails the necessary care. You should eat raw fruits and vegetables; these foods will give you the essential nutrients necessary to improve the health condition of your nails.

Your diet should also contain sulfur, silicon and biotin-rich foods. Apart from proper diet, make sure that you drink lots of water and take supplements rich in zinc and B vitamins. To further strengthen your nails, drink fresh carrot juice regularly as this is high in calcium and phosphorus.

Apart from the diet, nail care should also have preventive practices like wearing of gloves when doing dirty and strenuous job that needs your hands and feet. Nail art is fine but make sure to not do it as a habit because nail polish, nail polish remover, and even fake nails might damage the nails if done frequently.

There are also other practical nail care practices which are simple and easy to do. Do not use your nails for picking, scratching, digging, or pinching because these practices can damage your nails. Increase your nutrient intake such as calcium by eating and drinking calcium rich foods. Use also a moisturizer for your nails.
