To reduce a cold, one can take supplements which stop the growth of virus at the onset of a cold outbreak. The supplements to take are like 500 to 1000 mg of L-lysine; which is an amino acid on a daily basis, Zinc of 50 to 100 mg and antioxidant vitamins can help as well.

One should also not have stress and try to get the needed rest. Healthy eating also comes in handy when counteracting a cold.
