Top 5 Ways to Avoid the Snooze Button

We have all been there. 5:30 rolls around, and that alarm is getting louder and louder. All you can think about is how bad you slept, and how nice it would be to drift off for another hour. You worked out yesterday anyway, and you’ll just eat light today to make up for it. BAD THINKING! Here are my top 5 ways to avoid hitting snooze….

1. Go to bed earlier and be consistent - Let’s face it, not may of us our are getting our 8 hours of sleep for many reasons. Either you have work to do, your kids are keeping you up, or you just can’t wind down fast enough to get to sleep at a decent hour. As with just about everything else, consistency is key here. Try to get everything you need done 30 minutes to an 1 hour before you need to go to bed. Additionally, try to go to sleep at a consistent time (or close to it) every evening. Going to bed at 9:30 during the week and 12:30 on the weekends won’t help your case on Monday and Tuesday. (more…)

Many people start their exercise program with good intentions. Most often it starts in the New Year when you become aware of the Christmas over-indulgence catching up with you. Your clothes don’t fit as well as they did a few weeks early and so you embark upon a diet and with that you often attempt an exercise regime to maximize the benefits.

The bottom line in life is that we all will come across situations which irritate and anger us. The mark of a mature person is HOW we handle those situations. It is imperative that we have skills in our back pockets that are available to us when we need them. These ten simple things you can do to calm yourself down will help you to gain mastery of yourself, your emotions and your health. However, they won’t help unless you practice them every day, until they become your automatic response in any irritating or angry making situation. You will make mistakes, you will forget to practice but as soon as you become aware of this, just start again right from where you are.

Deep Breathing Wherever you are right now, just become aware of your breathing. Gradually change your breathing, until you are breathing in through your nose and out through your nose as you imagine your breath going all the way down below your belly button and emptying out from there. I do a lot of work with people around their goals. Setting goals puts you in the driver’s seat, giving you the power to transform your life or take a company to another level. Successfully setting and executing goals is not rocket science but there is a tried and true way that works for my clients and me. Sticking to this program guarantee’s success. It doesn’t matter whether your goals are personal or they are used to direct a large enterprise, the steps and the pitfalls are identical. I’ll take you through a quick tour. If you like, you can identify a goal of yours and do a test run of the system.
