Advertisements such as Viva Viagra are pounded into our brains everyday as the answer to erectile dysfunction or ED. The problem is that these clever and entertaining ads don’t tell people that ED can also be a sign of something more serious such as vascular disease. ED is not only about the inability to obtain and keep an erection, it can be a warning signal of other underlying diseases or even a warning that a heart attack is in the not so distant future.

Everyone is fully aware of the fact that it has been proven smoking leads to heart disease and cancer. However, it is not widely known that men age 40 to 49 are at a greater risk for these two diseases and men who smoke increase their risk for ED as well.

Alcohol can cause harm to a person if consumed in large quantities irresponsibly. During pregnancy, the harmful aspects of drinking are even more adverse, and the effects may range from mild to severe. There can be problems related to retardation along with those related to emotional, behavioural and learning issues on the part of the baby.

Apart from these problems, it may also cause serious damages to various organs of the baby. The foetal alcohol syndrome is the most common problem seen in the babies whose mothers have consumes alcohol during pregnancy. It may also lead to miscarriage, or the premature birth of the baby. The other condition may be the stillbirth, which is also due to the excessive alcohol consumption during pregnancy.

Blood alcohol content is measurement of the level of alcohol in blood. There are different figures set by government of different countries. In United States and Canada the figure is 0.08.

The meaning of 0.08 is that you will be legally considered as intoxicated if the percentage of alcohol in the blood is less than one tenth of one percent of your blood is concentrated with alcohol. There are two ways discovered to check the level of alcohol in the blood.

Blood alcohol content is varied by many different things. The most important is what type of alcohol you are taking, what is your tolerance power, what you have eaten before, at the time of drinking and after drinking, your gender, what is the percentage of body fat and many other different things. Due to these things your blood alcohol content varies. If you are sick even then your blood alcohol content changes.
