Colic usually occurs during the same time of the day, usually at night or in the early hours of the morning. Colic can be caused by stress, tension or spasms in the abdomen. The intensity and pain caused by colic can vary from one baby to another, but can easily be alleviated by a number of methods.

While there are oral pharmaceutical products that claim to alleviate symptoms of colic, most parents are not comfortable with the thought of letting their babies ingest products made from synthetic chemicals and ingredients. To children suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the world is a dizzying kaleidoscope of images, sounds, and thoughts constantly shifting in a blur.  They get easily distracted, are always daydreaming, and have a hard time controlling their impulses.  Most children with ADHD take prescription medication to treat the condition, but there are also a number of herbal remedies for ADHD that work just as effectively.  One such remedy is called Focus Formula, a potent combination of herbs known to promote healthy brain functioning.

Focus Formula was created by a group of naturopaths, homeopaths, and herbalists in order to provide children and adults with a safe, natural ADHD remedy that will not compromise their health.  Due to advances in herbal extraction, the Full Spectrum manufacturing process of Focus Formula ensures the balance and bio-availability of all the herbs’ active ingredients.  The method of manufacturing also reduces the likelihood of side effects as the central nervous system gets nourished.  However, the success of Focus Formula is mostly due to its careful selection of herbs, which are mixed in appropriate doses. Oct 13, 2010 Author: Web Designer | Filed under: Children, Family, Health, Skin Care

Baby skin care is more difficult than most people think. Keeping your baby’s skin clean and clear means taking care of his or her whole body. Newborn infants are especially prone to skin irritations and problems because it takes a while for their skin to get used to the world that exists outside of their mothers’ wombs. Practicing proper baby skin care means making smart choices throughout the day. Anything from your baby’s clothing to the soap that is used in his (or her) bath has the potential to affect his (or her) skin. Don’t worry though: practicing proper skin care for your baby does not have to be difficult or complicated. All you need is some common sense and you will be fine. Here are some tips to help you out as you get used to the new routine.

You need to do more than give your baby a bath if you want to practice proper baby skin care. You need to make sure that all of your baby’s skin stays clean and healthy. Treating developing skin conditions, taking care of your child’s laundry and keeping him out of the sun are all important. Remember, your baby’s skin is far more sensitive than the skin you have as an adult. Your baby needs you to help him make sure that skin conditions don’t take hold anywhere on his body. Thankfully, baby skin care is not all that complicated. You should be able to put together a quality routine early on in your baby’s life. Use these tips to help you out.

It is hard to do accurate baby predictions without using any scientific or medical tool. However, there is a natural curiosity to find out the gender of your baby.  In fact, this is the favorite game of expecting mothers as everyone around them is excited to know the sex of the new child to come.  Many techniques of doing baby predictions have developed over the years. Let’s take a look at five most popular ways of doing baby predictions:

1) Heartbeat

One of the most accurate methods of doing baby predictions believed by many people is by calculating the heartbeat of the baby. If the heartbeat of the baby is 140 or more than 140 then the sex of the baby is female. However, if the heartbeat of the baby is less than 140 then the sex of the child is male. It is true that there is no tangible proof regarding this theory but this has worked for many people. (more…)

How to Stop Your Toddler From Biting?

Oct 2, 2010 Author: Nicholas Wells | Filed under: Children, Children's Health, Family, Health

Just about every child has bit but whether or not they should be classified as a biter is another thing. In daycare studies have proven that around half of the children have been bitten about three times a year. So biters are common.

Biting happens in many stages. The first is when the teeth start to come out of the gums. This is when your toddler will bite to make their gums feel better. This kind of biting will be soothed from biting a rattle or a teething ring. If your baby tries to bite you while breast feeding quickly remove the infant and set them down in a safe place. At this time when your baby gets a negative response they will stop biting soon.

About the time that your toddler has their first birthday is when they have their second stage of biting. They usually bite to show some excitement. At this time when your toddler tries to bit you should respond firmly every time and it should stop almost immediately. (more…)
